Young ‘Community Consultants’collaborated with I:P:P Lead Artist Rabab Ghazoul to continue their series of creative conversations, at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre during RCT Homes’ Fun Day, asking the community ‘If your house could speak what would it say?’
Over the course of the day over 80 people took part; writing, drawing and chatting about their ideas and thoughts, which then became part of a specially built open air house.
This project was part of a series of creative conversations, which creates opportunities for people to contribute their voice to ideas of community and regeneration in the areas of Porth, Penygraig and Trebanog. These conversations form part of ‘Its Art but its Not’ an Ideas: People: Places partnership project between Artes Mundi, Valleys Kids and RCT Homes.
Ideas:People:Places is a new Arts Council of Wales funding programme that aims to bring together local people and agencies to develop innovative initiatives that put the arts at the heart of those communities.
